Halloween is over. It was SO last month. Yet, there are still hundreds of pumpkins sadly sitting at the pumpkin patch.
“Pick me!” they cried.
Not pretty enough. Not round enough. Not smooth enough. Not bumpy enough. Not big enough. Not small enough. Not scary enough.
Whatever the reason, pumpkins are left to sit and rot and cry.
As we drove by one such pumpkin patch, I exclaimed to daughter, “How sad! All those pumpkins were left!” (I am sentimental that way.)
My daughter replied, “Oh, Mom. Don’t worry. They will rot into the ground and turn into thousands more pumpkins next year.” (Golly, she is so smart.)
