Lately, I have heard from friends and family members, “Kids grow up so fast” and “Childhood flies.” Well, duh.
Don’t all wonderful things you enjoy go fast?
- Haagen-Dazs ice cream bars.
- A weeklong vacation in Hawaii.
- A plate of chocolate chip cookies.
- Summer in the Pacific Northwest.
- A sunset.
- A good book.
- Happy hour.
As a parent, I think the point is enjoy every bite and every minute.

I think its important to make fun memories so when time has flown away you have those to look back on.
I agree wholeheartedly!

This is so true! Really good to be reminded of this when anyone is having one of those ‘tough mum’ days (we all have ‘em!).
Feel this especially with my eldest’s wedding approaching.

Yes we all have those tough Mum days. But there is usually something good in every day and every experience (even if it is a challenge or a learning experience).
You have a huge event/milestone coming up with your son’s wedding. Happy (and teary, I imagine). You’ll be a lovely Mum at the wedding.
Best wishes to you!

Amen!!! What a great perspective. In contrast, a flight from the East coast to the West is the longest 6 hours of your life… Time really does slow down when you cram into a plane seat.
Good point!
I recently flew from NYC to Seattle and know exactly what you mean,
